Discovering Kindness | Youth Club Arts Award

Role
Artist Facilitator, Project Coordinator & Arts Award Adviser

About
I planned and delivered a collaborative Arts Award project for youth group ‘Chill Club’ in Newington, Ramsgate (Kent). The project involved 20 young people aged 9-18 years old over 6 months, I ran sessions at their group and took them on inspirational trips.

Working with Chill Club and a designer, together we have co-created arts & kindness themed logbook resources for Discover and Explore using our learning as a guide. This resource will be launched in the next few months and will be a useful guide for young people who are interested in pro-social arts.

Workshops
For this project I devised and led a variety of fun workshops to get to know the group, support their interests and ideas in the arts and achieve Arts Awards. Workshops included collaging self-care posters, embroidering positive patches and tie dying tote bags for homeless people, learning drawing techniques through playing games and creating positive photo booth props.

You can download the resources from People United’s website here.
