Scouting for Kindness | People United

Role
Project Coordinator

Brief
Building on People United’s existing Kindness Challenge Badge for Girlguides I designed and managed a project which trialled ideas for a new Arts & Kindness badge for Scouts with local groups in Canterbury.

Project
I led creative consultation workshops with 20 Cub Scouts to determine the content of a half day Arts & Kindness event.

From those conversations, 40 Beaver & Cub Scouts attended a Saturday event called Scouting for Kindness, each visiting three workshops led by different artists. The event featured an interactive research fair designed in collaboration with the University of Kent to measure the impact of young people’s understanding of empathy, views of humanity, creativity and prosocial intentions after the event.

I am currently writing a case study to support the future development of an official Arts & Kindness badge.
