Programme development, creative collaboration and large-scale event production
For the first six months of 2026, Becky worked with Bright Shadow as Project Manager for the Dementia Chorus programme across Kent.
Bright Shadow is a creative organisation supporting people living with dementia to live well. Having previously run many creative sessions for their Zest groups, Becky already had a strong understanding of the organisation and its approach. This Project Manager role involved: programme planning, choir development, partnership coordination, artist and volunteer coordination, communications, event production and strategic development.
All Together Now!
A central project of Becky’s time with Bright Shadow was All Together Now! a large-scale celebration of the five Dementia Chorus and Zest groups.
The event brought together approximately 150 people including those living with dementia, their family and friends, supporters, artists, volunteers, group coordinators and trustees for an afternoon of singing, dancing and fun.
Over several months, participants worked with Musical Director Emily Watts to build confidence, develop new skills and collaboratively create a new song, Sing Together. The song reflects the importance of singing and creative participation in the everyday lives of the people involved in the groups.

As Project Manager, Becky led the planning and delivery of the event, coordinating the creative programme, artists, communications, logistics, volunteers and wider event team. While also ensuring that the event felt welcoming, accessible and dementia-friendly for everyone taking part.

Alongside the delivery of All Together Now!, Becky worked on the wider development of the Dementia Chorus programme across Kent.
This included:
- Supporting the development of a new choir location
- Coordination of freelance artists and creative practitioners
- Developing programme structures and operational systems
- Coordinating volunteers and an events team
- Creating communications
- Multi-layered logistical planning
- Monitoring participation and programme development
- Developing strategic plans for future projects
The project brought together many of the things Becky values most in her own practice: creative collaboration, careful coordination and creating the conditions for people to participate in something meaningful.
I’m proud of the role I played in helping make All Together Now happen, and in supporting the wider development of Bright Shadow’s Dementia Chorus programme.
