I worked with every child at St Alphege Infants School in Whitstable to co-create a bespoke patterned fabric for their school.
Across three days I led fun and creative workshops where the children learnt how to create and use their own stamps and stencils to create patterned fabrics collaboratively. We considered how the school vision: Loved, Inspired, Shining could be represented as an images by ‘stepped into’ artists drawings and paintings.
Using photographs of the hand printed fabrics I created a digital repeating pattern, this flexible file has now been digitally printed onto fabric and sewn into curtains by the school community.
This project was commissioned by St Alphege Infants School via Animate Arts Company.
