Just before October half term in 2020 I led a series of 30 minute workshops for Year 1 and Year 4 pupils from two primary schools who share use of a small woodland in Newington, Ramsgate.
The workshops took place with extra care for social distancing with small groups and plenty of hand sanitsier.
The children first leant about young climate change activists. sharing their knowledge and exchanging facts – mostly about Greta Thunberg! Then they collaged hats or hairstyles onto photographs of the young climate change heroes using leaves and petals with lots of the materials being sourced by the children from the surrounding trees and plants.
This was an Aim4 project organised by Nova Marshall supported by Kent County Council.
