These workshops took place in October 2020 mostly in a small woodland called The Copse in Newington, Ramsgate. I worked with both Year 1 and Year 4 pupils from two local schools.
On the last day it was too windy to be in the woods, so I took the woods to the school. I gathered leaves in the pouring rain before setting up a workshop in the school hall instead.
In all of the 30 minute workshops children worked together in small groups to select leaves and experiment with the different textures and qualities, learning how each would print differently.
The workshops took place with a mindfulness of social distancing , small group sizes and plenty of hand washing.
This was an Aim4 project organised by Nova Marshall supported by Kent County Council.
