Parade Workshops | Canterbury Festival

To celebrate the opening of Canterbury Festival 2019 I worked with Blean Primary School pupils in Year 3 to create ‘Moon Voyage’ themed artworks to carry through the city centre.

Pupils worked together to create six footprint shaped placards which said ‘One Small Step’ and ‘One Giant Leap’, they created the earth with a bouncy rocket launching into space and the moon with a springy astronaut taking the first step. Each pupil also created a stick with ribbons and silver space themed shapes to wave as they walked the parade route.

That was the most fun! Did you see those people looking at what we had made? They thought our stuff was really good! I feel really proud now.
