Role
Artist & Creative Facilitator
Brief
“Art Builders is an exciting new programme of work by Animate Arts Company, and funded by Arts Council England. It is an artist-led school programme, enabling young people (5-11 year olds) in primary schools to work with professional artists from Animate Arts Company. Pupils will develop creative skills, raise their aspirations through a leadership & actively champion their right to access arts & culture as part of their education. Thorough collaborations between young people, schools and artists, we will be making life-size installations from cardboard and paper, creating 360° Virtual reality films, leading art workshops and enabling art weeks & events to happen in schools and the local community. The programme will culminate with a celebratory sharing day for schools, education and cultural sector stakeholders at the Turner Contemporary. ” – Animate Arts Company
This project involves two core elements, a Big Build Event day to inspire children followed by more in depth projects in schools.
- Big Build Event Supporting 100 pupils to create a cardboard moon buggy and space ship console in one day, while dressed as a cardboard spacewoman.
