Brief
Deliver a participatory collage workshop at Turner Contemporary’s Craft Club based on the Van Dyck Vanishments project.
Workshop
Using recycled paper, wallpaper samples, wrapping paper and old books visitors were invited to collage a self-portrait drawing inspiration from the Henri Gaudier-Brzeska piece currently on display as part of the exhibition Self: Image and Identity. I guided participants to elaborate areas of light and dark shadows on their faces, focusing on outlining the shapes cast by these.
